Systematic detection of leaks along water networks

APRIL 2018

The presence of leaks and seepage along water distribution networks is the principal cause of waste of an important resource like drinking water. In economic terms, a few high-volume leaks can cause significant financial problems to a utility, since to provide the end user with good service, the costs of pumping/production/distribution of drinking water sustained by that utility are often higher than the total water invoiced.

For over 65 years, Volta S.p.A. has been providing a complete range of equipment for the management, control and monitoring of water leaks along distribution networks. Currently the new correlator model Correlux C-3 is the economically most interesting solution for managing and identifying water losses along the distribution network. The geophone functions with a PAM W-2 bell and correlator combined in a single instrument offer the possibility to pre-detect and even pinpoint the exact point of leakage.
