Tuesday October 7, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, at the Sala Goccia (Hall 25) of BolognaFiere, will host the conference “The European and Mediterranean scenario of desalination, in light of sustainability and circularity challenges”, promoted by AIDARA – Italian Association for Water Desalination and Reuse – and WestMed.
Conference Theme
Desalination represents one of the key drivers to ensure water resilience, especially in contexts most exposed to climate change. After a phase of slowdown, Italy has resumed a path of technological and plant development, positioning itself for a leading role in the Mediterranean scenario. During the meeting, strategic guidelines, sector regulations, and technological developments aimed at making this process increasingly sustainable will be analyzed. Through an international round table, both the progress made at the Italian level and at the European and Mediterranean levels will be explored—an excellent opportunity for exchange and to learn from the diverse experiences of participating countries. Finally, initiatives and platforms will be presented, aimed at providing education and disseminating best practices and technological innovation.
