
ISTAT Conference on Access to Water and the Sustainability of Water Resources
On Wednesday, 8 October 2025, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Sala Acqua (Hall 26) of BolognaFiere, the conference “Access to Water and the Sustainability of Water Resources: Current Situation and Future Perspectives”, organized by ISTAT – the Italian National Institute of Statistics, will be held.
Conference Theme
The conference will be dedicated to exploring the right to universal access to drinking water and the sustainability of water resources in the Italian context, a crucial issue at a time marked by increasing human pressures and the ever more evident effects of climate change.
The session will address the following points:
- Status of drinking water supply in Italy: analysis of the main territorial and infrastructural challenges hindering equitable and safe access to water resources for all citizens.
- Availability and sustainability of water resources: analysis of resource use, strategies and innovative solutions for their management, with a focus on the reuse of urban wastewater as a driver to improve the efficiency and resilience of water systems.
- Future perspectives and developments: exploration of new technologies, integrated management models, and long-term policies aimed at ensuring quality water services and protecting environmental sustainability.
A strategic opportunity for discussion among professionals in the water, environmental, and infrastructure sectors, aimed at promoting an integrated vision between social equity and the protection of natural resources.
