On 7 October 2025, as part of the 18th edition of H2O - Accadueo, BolognaFiere will host a study day entirely dedicated to urban drainage in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and AneA.
Topics of the Meeting
The day will be structured into five consecutive sessions in the Oceano Room (Pav. 25), with a technical-institutional program designed to explore the challenges related to water management in urban areas, in a context increasingly marked by the impacts of climate change and the need for integration with the Integrated Water Service (SII).
At the heart of the debate is the new EU Directive 2024/3019 on wastewater, whose transposition by July 2027 will lead to an expansion of SII’s responsibilities, including strategic investments in energy, water reuse, sludge and critical raw material recovery. This regulatory transition represents an opportunity to overcome the critical issues of the water sector, but requires immediate and constructive dialogue among all stakeholders: local government authorities, SII operators, municipal administrations, ANCI, Civil Engineering, Reclamation Consortia, and central administrations.
Purpose
In line with the consultation and public dialogue activities promoted by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security for the transposition of Directive 2024/3019, this workshop represents an important opportunity for joint discussion and an in-depth evaluation of the extension of urban drainage management to the Integrated Water Service.
